TRADING SIMULATION COMPANY

The Trading Simulation Company is a joint project between RMFITS Pty Ltd and Creative Analytics Pty Ltd. Their objective is to help clients experience the varying roles associated with financial markets trading by participating in a “hands-on” simulated environment. Attendees learning outcomes are to work as a team by optimising the financial portfolio of their assets and positions while gaining the highest profit. The simulations are a must attend for existing or new financial market participants wanting to learn about the financial markets and risk management. Attendees have also previously included end-use customers, banks, hedge funds, regulatory and government bodies.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS

d-cyphaTrade and Trading Simulation Company (TSC) are now running combined theory and practical based simulation workshops:

1. AUSTRALIAN ELECTRICITY

The introductory and advanced simulation workshops are designed to increase understanding of the electricity market, particularly in reference to the spot and financial markets including the d-cyphaTrade ASX Australian Electricity Futures and Options products.

  • Experience the Australian electricity pool (spot) market
  • Understand electricity supply and demand fundamentals
  • Hedge electricity price risk for various assets including banks, generators & retailers with financial products including Futures & Options
  • Learn about the characteristics of the Centrally Cleared Futures Markets
  • Understand Electricity Futures and Options contract specifications
  • Learn margining and worked examples
  • Experience risk portfolio management.

2. CARBON MARKET TRADING

An introduction to the international carbon markets & the proposed Australian Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS). By participating in a hands-on trading simulation, participants will gain an understanding of the carbon markets, key market influences & drivers, as well as potential impacts on business profit & loss.

  • Understand carbon demand and liabilities
  • Experience Government auction and permits
  • Portfolio management using domestic and overseas financial instruments including futures
  • Gain an overview of the proposed Australian carbon market under the Kyoto Protocol
  • Learn the features of the international financial market for carbon including the European ETS
  • Understand the impacts of ETS on commodities markets (including electricity markets).

Should you be unable to attend, a substitute participant is welcome at no extra charge. Alternatively a full refund will be made for cancellations received in writing (letter, fax, email) one week prior to the event. Regrettably, no refunds can be made less than 7 days before the event. For any event cancelled by d-cyphaTrade, registration fees are fully refundable.
