REGISTER NOW: Carbon Trading Simulation Workshop, Friday 21 October 2011
Fri 26 Aug 2011
In conjunction with the Trading Simulation Company (TSC), d-cyphatrade is running a specialist Carbon Simulation Course. The workshop gives a theory and practical based introduction to the International carbon markets as well as the proposed Australian Carbon Price Mechanism (CPM).
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This hands-on carbon market simulation supported by front end system deal entry and voice brokers, allows participants to gain an understanding of the carbon markets, key market influences and drivers, as well as potential impacts on business profit and loss. The course covers details of the proposed Australian Carbon Price Mechanism, international carbon markets under the Kyoto Protocol (and/or proposed succession arrangements) and the European ETS, features of the international financial market for carbon and the impact of emissions trading (international and domestic) on Australian companies.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The energy intensive manufacturing industry, mining companies, and in general large electricity and gas wholesale customers all face a price increase on their energy consumption as a result of the CPM. The proposed linkages to international carbon emissions markets from 2015 onwards will cause significant changes to the emissions price risk faced by carbon intensive Australian industries. Hence, the carbon market simulation is a “must attend†for companies that are energy intensive and trade exposed, generators, retailers & wholesale end use customers in the electricity market as well as producers, retailers, wholesale consumers and gas pipeline operators in the Australian gas market. Commercial and Investment Banks, Hedge Funds and Institutional Investors will also find the workshop of interest.
